You can’t tear out the page…
So, to let you in on some more personal stuff about me….I am impulsive and I am not a plan ahead kind of person!
When I have an idea for a journal page, I want to jump in and do it right now! I want the image in my head to magically appear on the page, perfectly executed and amazing! Apparently, I’ve always been this way.
Recently, I found some of my old report cards from grade school. This is a glimpse of my personality coming out at a very young age. This is from 1st grade and if you look above the note…the only check mark that was below average was in self control. How telling!
So many times I have not planned well for a journal entry and in the end have wanted to just tear out the page! But it’s a Bible…you seriously cannot do that! How often have we done something impulsive in our lives that we can’t change? We can’t tear out a page or chapter in our lives but we can learn from our mistakes. I saw a post the other day from a lady who had done some beautiful lettering in her Bible and then realized that she had spelled a very key word wrong! I’m sure she felt sick when she noticed it. She was asking for advice on how to fix it#youcanttearoutthepage Click To Tweet
I was struck by the thought that God sees us as perfect. Even though we are imperfect people making mistakes in an imperfect world, He sees us as perfect masterpieces! Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” He loved us so much that he sent His Son, Jesus, to die for us!
Even if you don’t make mistakes being impulsive like me, you may still have times when you spill your coffee on your page or you choose colors that just look wrong or misspell a word. Relax! The good news is that You are perfect in God’s eyes!
The other good news is there are things you can do to fix your journaling mistakes. I will talk about that in another post.
Just don’t tear out the page!
